Welcome to our staff picks series! Next up is Kayley, our Brand Assistant. Read on to find out a little more about Kayley and the Joanie pieces she’s loving right now.

We devised this staff picks series to give you a glimpse into Joanie HQ and the brilliant individuals that make up our small and passionate team!

Find out about the people behind our brand and their roles at Joanie, as well as the pieces they’re currently coveting from our collection.

Meet Kayley, Brand Assistant

Hi Kayley! Tell us about your role at Joanie - what does a typical day look like?

My role as Brand Assistant can vary from day to day! One of my main tasks at Joanie is to assist in upcoming photoshoots. This requires preparation and planning, so helping with model scouting, styling, finding cool locations, props, etc., all in line with the collection we’re shooting. I also photograph product flatlays, which are featured across our socials and website. As well as this, I ensure the team is always stocked up on all supplies they may need in the office!

What’s the best bit about your job?

I’ve only been at Joanie for two months, so I'm still a newbie to the role! However, so far, my favourite part of this job has been assisting with photoshoots on location - we’ve been to some interesting locations! It’s very rewarding afterwards seeing the creative assets being loved by customers, too.

Can you describe yourself in three words?

Umm this is a hard one. I’d have to say creative, resilient, and I’ve been told I’m very wise for my age, so I’ll go with that.

How would you define your personal style?

My personal style changes a lot. My style icon is Florence Welch, through and through, so I do try to take influence from her fairy-like, vintage style if I’m getting dressed up - this is mostly aspirational, though, hence the word ‘icon.' However, my day-to-day dressing prioritises comfort, so mostly staple pieces such as jeans, t shirts, flowy skirts/trousers.

Staff Picks: Kayley's Favourites

I’ve picked out five of my favourite pieces available on the site at the moment – some of these I have already, and others are definitely on my wish list!

Annie Velvet Waistcoat

I love all of the Annie colours, so it was a struggle narrowing it down to the black, but I just love how Annie in black looks styled with the Bram Shirt underneath and the Lafayette Trousers.

Bram Oversized Victorian Collar Blouse

I just adore the detailing on this shirt and the oversized collar - it’s beautiful. It looks great layered underneath Annie or just with jeans!

Lafayette Velvet Wide Leg Trousers

Again, as I said, I just love how this looks paired with Annie. I think co-ords are fantastic and so interchangeable for everyday wear with other pieces. I think you can definitely wear this both casual and dressed up too.

Georgia Marigold Print Square Neck Dress

Georgia is one of my favourites because of the marigold print, which I love! It’s super floaty and perfect for a summers day. I would probably pair this with my cowboy boots.

Coronation Street X Joanie - McDonald Coronation Street Print Dress

Coronation Street! Do I need to say more? I’m a big fan of the show, so it was hard to choose just one from this collection, but it had to be this dress featuring an all-over Corrie print: Roys Rolls, The Kabin, and the Rovers Return pub all in just one dress! Just amazing.
