Welcome to our staff picks series! Next up is Grace, our Customer Service Advisor. Read on to find out a little more about Grace and the Joanie pieces she’s loving right now.

We devised this staff picks series to give you a glimpse into Joanie HQ and the brilliant individuals that make up our small and passionate team!

Find out about the people behind our brand and their roles at Joanie, as well as the pieces they’re currently coveting from our collection.

Meet Grace, Customer Service Advisor

Hi Grace! Tell us about your role at Joanie - what does a typical day look like?

A typical day starts at 9am when I begin checking customer emails. After around half an hour, I check our social media channels and reply to any messages or comments to help our customers. I spend the day working through the emails and phone calls to make sure all of our customer's needs and queries are met. I have also started to work on the sustainability committee within Joanie, which is really exciting, so I have been working on some bits for that recently as well!

What’s the best bit about your job?

Free clothes! (I'm joking… kind of). We have the option to take home samples that the Product Team are finished with, so I have a whole new Joanie summer wardrobe, haha! Working on the sustainability committee is also a huge highlight. I am really passionate about sustainability and ethics within the fashion industry and the wider world, especially with waste/production reduction and slow fashion - I think these are crucial things to think about if we want to work towards a better fashion future!

Can you describe yourself in three words?

Optimistic, Friendly, Sustainable!

How would you define your personal style?

I like to dress like a bit of a hippy with lots of long skirts and dresses. I always wear colour - I don’t remember the last time I wore black or grey, give me anything pink, and I will wear it. I shop mostly second-hand, as well as making my own clothes, and I occasionally shop with sustainable/slow fashion brands, like Joanie! I like my clothes to be unique and not follow trends.

Staff Picks: Grace's Favourites

I’ve picked out five of my favourite pieces available on the site at the moment – some of these I have already, and others are definitely on my wishlist!

Kirk Bloomsbury Print Cardigan

I love this cardigan, and it’s the first sample I took from Joanie - haha! It’s so cosy but really lightweight for summer and is the perfect cardie to chuck on for a night at the beer garden.

Cinna Square Neck Rose Print Midaxi Dress

Pink, Pink, Pink! I love this dress so much - it’s bright and loud and feminine, which is just my style! I will definitely be purchasing this soon, perhaps for my graduation!

Garda Vintage Floral Print Quilted Hanging Wash Bag

I love this because it is made from deadstock fabrics, so by purchasing this, you are limiting fabric waste! I am really passionate about this and really try hard in my daily life to minimise waste, especially with food and clothing. I am so proud to be working for a brand that shares these same values as I do!

Veggie Breakfast Club Tee

This top is so funny - I love this film and always see variations of 'Breakfast Club' tops, but I've never seen a veggie breakfast one!

Ruby Square Neck Denim Midi Dress

I also have this dress at home and wore it for the first time last weekend. The fit is so flattering, and the embroidery really completes it. I love wearing this because it’s so comfy and makes me feel like summer!
