We devised this staff picks series to give you a glimpse into Joanie HQ and the brilliant individuals that make up our small and passionate team!
Find out about the people behind our brand and their roles at Joanie, as well as the pieces they’re currently coveting from our collection.
Meet Lucy, Digital Marketing Executive
Hi Lucy! Tell us about your role at Joanie - what does a typical day look like?
I only joined Joanie about four months ago, and I’ve absolutely loved every minute - the time has flown by so fast! It’s really exciting working for a brand that is growing so fast, and no day is the same! My role involves executing marketing strategies on our organic and paid socials. I also handle marketing reports to get insights into our performance, and manage our social channels and email newsletters, and work closely with the paid media team. It’s a really dynamic role, and I’m enjoying every bit of it!
What’s the best bit about your job?
The best part of the job is undoubtedly working within an incredibly supportive and passionate team of Joanie Gals!
Can you describe yourself in three words?
Chatty, practical, and very rubbish at finding words to describe myself…
How would you define your personal style?
I love anything Scandi-style and effortless! I find my style quite eclectic and usually reflects my mood. In winter, I lean towards darker pieces, but come summer, I usually gravitate towards brighter colours.
I also have a genuine passion for all things vintage and retro, likely influenced by my dad, who's an antique dealer. My childhood weekends were often spent at antique fairs and car boot sales, where I definitely developed a bit of an unhealthy obsession for vintage jewellery in my adult life.
Staff Picks: Lucy's Favourites
I’ve picked out five of my favourite pieces available on the site at the moment – some of these I have already, and others are definitely on my wish list!
Lady Garden X Joanie Lollie Charity Pyjamas
I’m a sucker for a matching pyjama set - it’s the ultimate form of self care! Female health is something I’ve always been very passionate about, and the gynaecological print on the Lollie Pyjamas is so unique. They’re super soft and silky to sleep in, and what’s not to love about vulvas on pyjamas?!
Plus, 100% of the profits from the sales of these PJs go towards funding female health research and cancer treatment!
Bram Oversized Victorian Collar Blouse
Statement collars have been such a staple in my wardrobe this A/W, and Bram has been on rotation for me. It’s Scandi-chic yet still gives off those cool '70s vibes!
Mork Star Print Short Sleeve Boilersuit
This star print boilersuit is next on my list. It’s the perfect throw on outfit - practical yet cool! I love the fact that you can pair it with a bold contrasting print or keep it simple with a plain turtleneck.
Laura Ashley X Joanie - Elin Lington Ditsy Floral Print Quilted Jacket
I was so excited when I found out Joanie was doing a collection with Laura Ashley! I had a few pieces from there when I was little, so naturally I had to add a Laura Ashley X Joanie piece to my top staff picks, as it evokes such a feeling of nostalgia for me! This Elin Jacket is so beautiful and is the perfect transitional piece.
Priya Vintage Floral Print Puff Sleeve Midi Dress
I wore the Priya dress over Christmas and had quite a few compliments, and I loved being able to say "thanks, it’s Joanie!" It’s such an easy piece to throw on, and I love to pair it with chunky loafers and a knitted vest on top.
