Meet Lucy, Brand Assistant

Hi Lucy! Tell us about your role at Joanie - what does a typical day look like?

Hey! I’m the Brand Assistant here at Joanie. I get to help out on photoshoots which I absolutely love! This involves making sure all the clothes and shoes we need for each shoot are packed up for the studio, providing the models with their outfits, and a LOT of steaming! I also get to select and rename the images we use, as well as making sure the office has all the supplies we need.

What's the best bit about your job?

The best bit about my job is getting a sneak peek at all the amazing clothes. I’ve only worked here for three months, but I’ve been a Joanie Gal for over five years, so seeing what’s coming up is so exciting!

Can you describe yourself in three words?

Autumn-loving cat lady… which I am sure is four words, but I cannot condense it any further!

How would you define your personal style?

I am generally going for a Jessica Day and Cottagecore vibe, but more honestly, I would have to describe it as a sixties librarian meets a giant toddler.

Staff Picks: Lucy's Favourites

I get so excited to switch up my wardrobe for every season, but my favourite is autumn. My picks definitely reflect that! As a fellow Joanie Gal, the whole website makes my bank account nervous, but these five picks are my ultimate must-haves… for this season. There are so many amazing pieces that I have my eyes on for Christmas.

Simpson Polka Dot Print Button-Through Dress

Get ready to see a lot of autumnwear in the rest of my picks – starting with the polka dot Simpson dress. I was immediately drawn to this versatile dress. It’s perfect for an evening out or can be layered up with a jumper, looks great with tights or no tights, and can be worn with heels or boots.

Agaric Mushroom Cardigan

The Cottagecore is strong with this one. It’s so so soft and perfect for cooler days. My sister and I both have this, and we now have to coordinate wearing it after accidentally matching recently!

Jeremiah Magic Toadstool Tee

As soon as I saw this guy, I knew I needed him. His grumpy face is too cute! I wear a lot of dresses, but I’m not always in the mood for one and need something a little more casual to pair with jeans. Jeremiah is great for this while still showing my style.

Loki Mock Neck Cat Nap Jumper

I swear this is the last time I’ll mention cats but look! I couldn’t not include this cosy jumper with a sleepy kitty on it. I love the chic, sixties shape. It is a perfect pairing with our new Houndstooth Peggy trousers too.

Dawn O’Porter X Joanie - Maitai Cat Print Catsuit

The second Dawn O’Porter collection is what dreams are made of for me. The print is just so fun, and the fit of this jumpsuit is so flattering. This jumpsuit has become a go-to on shoot days as I can dress it down with a pair of Vans but looks really cute with a little ankle boot too.
