Last month, the Joanie Team volunteered at Broughton Sanctuary, participating in their new 'Wild Food Forest' initiative!

We worked together to help Broughton Sanctuary's Resident Forager, Gemma, weed one of their brand-new gardens, filled with edible plants and native flora from all over the Broughton Hall estate!
Joanie HQ is based on the business park close to the sanctuary, and we found it so rewarding to work on the grounds around our office. We discussed the future development of the Wild Food Forest at Broughton Sanctuary, learning about the importance of taking care of the environment around us.
Here at Broughton Sanctuary, we are thrilled to have Joanie Clothing based within our Business Park. Their creativity brings a great energy and colour and the team is a pleasure to have on the Estate. It is even more inspiring to see their team getting hands-on and volunteering within our nature recovery programme, showing real commitment to the environment and our shared future.

We got stuck into the work, removing lots of thistles to make sure they don't spread into the new garden. Being outside in the fresh air was a real treat, and we ended the day with a well-earned cup of foraged sanctuary herbal tea.
The team really enjoyed the afternoon, learning about herbal plants and how they can be used in cooking and as medicine.
It was great to get outside and learn about all the plants that grow naturally in the countryside and the health benefits they can have. Gemma, Broughton's Resident Forager, had so much knowledge! Over the afternoon, I feel like we made so much progress with the garden, and I’m excited to see how this grows and changes through the seasons

We had a fantastic day working with the team at Broughton Sanctuary, and we can't wait to get involved with more volunteering this year. Keep an eye on our Charity Page for more information and further updates!
