Describe your current job...

I am a comedian, producer and writer. I produce and perform solo comedy shows locally and internationally. I have done the Edinburgh, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Hollywood Fringe Festivals. I won an award for Best Emerging Artist at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2017. I am originally from Toronto where I ran a weeklt comedy show at The Ossington and wrote for the Toronto Star about my comedy career, and love of motorcycles. I moved to LA in 2015, and started producing shows at The Virgil and Nerdmelt Showroom, and write for motorcycle.com. I balance my time about 50 50 in being on the road performing, and in California to keep up momentum in the US.

Explain a typical day at work...

I typical day would be spent following up on emails (I have yet to hire someone), and administrative tasks that could involve researching and booking gigs, and sending posters to venues for upcoming shows. Then I might head down to a community gathering to hand out flyers for my shows. I would come home and update my website, edit an article I had written for motorcycle.com, and then perform at a comedy show.

I usually wake up at...

8 am

my usual breakfast is...

Fruit and cereal or boiled eggs and toast

I am responsible for...

My dog Kuza, making sure I see my husband enough, applying for festivals, booking gigs, writing articles and marketing/producing/performing at comedy shows.

My most memorable work moment is...

Winning The Best Emerging Artist Award at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in January 2017

After work I enjoy...

Reading, hiking, watching some good TV like Stranger Things, Game of Thrones or The Great British Bake Off and playing video games.

My Friday night go-to drink is...

At home, it would be a beer or a glass of red wine. In a bar, it would be a Whiskey Sour.

What can you not leave the house without?

Cell Phone.

You're given a plane ticket titled 'anywhere', where do you go?

Brazil, I met a girl in Italy and I promised I would meet her one day in her hometown of Brasilia.

What would your spirit animal be?

Yorkie. I own one, and he is small and thinks he is a lion, I can relate.

What's your favourite book?

I am reading the Twilight Saga right now haha, and am already on Breaking Dawn after finishing Twilight a few weeks ago! That is my guilty pleasure. I loved Harry Potter and just went to the Hogsmeade and Hogwarts at Universale Hollywood. I am a sucker for books taking you into a world similar to our own, but with a magical twist. My favourite non-fiction would be biographies of people I admire, Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, Elon Musk, Tina Fay, Shania Twain and Steve Martin. You can gleam a lot of advice from reading how successful people took risks, and encountered many failures and obstacles before getting where they wanted to go.

If you could give your 16-year-old self any advice, what would it be?

Life will get better. You will meet friends that you'll have for a lifetime that truly care and support you. Your skin will improve, no need to go into the sun to dry it out, it will do more harm than good. Follow your passions. Soon you will care so little about what people think of you, it will shock and empower you, high school is only a brief moment in your life.
