The idea behind this collection came from our family holiday last summer – a stay in a beautiful artist's house in Arles in the South of France. There was a framed photo of Françoise Hardy atop a Grand Piano (sadly, whilst we were staying there, she passed away), which inspired us: by day, we listened to her music whilst drinking coffee on the terrace, we danced around the gîte garden, and in the evenings we played cards and started rewatching French New Wave films whilst drinking great wine and toasting JUST how good the style was during that period…

We lived that life for a week - we went to tree-lined street markets and bought traditional baskets, we ate lovely fresh fruits from stalls on the side of the road, we swam in rivers and painted watercolours of the scenes with the children and wrote postcards to send home. It was a celebration of simple pleasures in the great outdoors, like fresh BBQ sardines on the beach, ice lollies in the sun and lying on freshly cut grass!
