Smart Works Greater Manchester
This International Women’s Day, we’re donating 10% of our sales to Smart Works Greater Manchester, a UK-based organisation that provides women with coaching services and clothing to help them feel confident on their journey toward employment.
They have centres located all over the UK, and in the eight years they’ve been up and running, they have helped over 20,000 women into employment. The women who come to Smart Works are referred from Job Centres, mental health charities, women’s refuges, homeless shelters, the prison service, the care service, and youth organisations.
Smart Works’ clients are often at an increased risk of economic hardship and discrimination: in the last year, 43% of the women they support had been unemployed for over a year, 25% had been rejected from over 50 jobs, and 14% had been rejected from over 100 jobs.
After their appointment, 93% of Smart Works’ clients reported feeling more confident about succeeding in their next interview, 97% felt more confident in their new outfit, and 93% felt more aware of their strengths and skills.
