Calling all bookworms and avid readers! The Anne Sweatshirt is here to help you wear your love of literature on your sleeve (or, more accurately, your chest). Created in collaboration with the arts and culture charity Cheltenham Festivals, we’re donating £10 from the sale of every sweatshirt to help support them in their mission to promote the benefits of reading literature, inspiring the next generation of readers.
The Anne Sweatshirt was created in collaboration with Cheltenham Festivals, an arts and culture charity that exists to bring joy, spark curiosity, connect communities, and inspire change.
Crafted from a super-soft organic cotton blend, this cosy jumper features an embroidered ‘Reading For Pleasure’ slogan against a green gables (yes, that’s the actual Pantone colour reference) or sky blue background.
This sweatshirt celebrates the charity’s mission to champion reading and make books more inclusive and accessible, something we believe in wholeheartedly and are so excited to be a part of!
“
“It’s so exciting to work with Joanie Clothing to promote our passion for reading. Our charity takes every opportunity to celebrate the change-making joy and inspiration that books can bring to people of all ages - and now we’re doing it in real style, too! There’s surely no better jumper this season in which to snuggle down with your favourite book.”
Ali Mawle, co-CEO of Cheltenham Festivals.
Reading is a super-power: it connects us to others, teaches us remarkable things and creates spaces in which we can learn, relax and reflect. That’s why Cheltenham Festivals is so passionate about reading for pleasure: sitting down with a good book is one of life’s great gifts and can power real and transformative change.
Research studies show that reading is the single biggest indicator of a child’s future success and well-being. For adults, maintaining a love of reading in later life offers all kinds of intellectual, emotional, social and economic benefits. We can build more connected communities with books, and make a measurable difference with them; we all benefit when more of us read for pleasure. That’s why Cheltenham Literature Festival believes in readers championing reading – if we don’t, who will?
Cheltenham Literature Festival, which is run by the charity, was the world's first literature festival when it was founded over 70 years ago and continues to give readers the chance to engage with the best writers working today. It gives emerging writers a platform to find new readers for their latest work. And its year-round Learning & Participation programmes builds all kinds of spaces to develop the next generation of lit-lovers. It gives everyone the chance to discover reading for pleasure and unlock the transformative power of great books.
