Meet Kayley, Creative Marketing Assistant

Hi Kayley! Tell us about your role at Joanie - what does a typical day look like and what’s the best bit about your job?

As a Creative Marketing Assistant at Joanie, I get stuck into a bit of everything! From planning and assisting brand photoshoots to supporting wider marketing activity and managing influencer and press relationships. The best part of my job? Being on campaign shoots is always fun, but I would also say seeing and interacting with customer content on our socials is definitely a highlight of mine.

Who is your style icon?

I’ve always adored Florence Welch and Chloë Sevigny’s style. Sorry, I can’t choose just one, both are iconic!

What are you watching or reading at the moment – do you have any recommendations?

At the moment, I’m watching the new season of Mandy, it’s a brilliant comedy series by Diane Morgan, I love her! And of course, Coronation Street remains a weekly must-watch, you can’t beat a bit of classic soap drama. I also like to stay in the loop by keeping up with fashion magazines like Dazed and Vogue.

How would you define your personal style?

Hmm, my style changes depending on my mood or season, but comfort is always the main thing. I like mixing pieces that maybe shouldn’t go together - prints, softer feminine things with chunky boots, that kind of thing. I’d probably describe my style as fun, playful, but still practical. I also try to shop second-hand as much as possible, usually on Vinted or in charity shops, as it’s a nice way to find something unique.

Staff Picks: Kayley's Favourites

I’ve picked out five of my favourite pieces available on the site at the moment – some of these I have already, and others are definitely on my wish list!

Alder Cow Intarsia Knitted Cardigan

Alder Cow Intarsia Knitted Cardigan

I just love this cardigan. It’s a beautiful shape, incredibly soft and in cow print too! What’s not to love? I’m currently waiting for this to arrive, as I ordered it as soon as it came out.

Robin Embroidered Denim Short Sleeve Boilersuit

Denim is a constant in my wardrobe, and I love this jumpsuit because you can just throw it on and instantly look put-together. The embroidery gives it something a bit different - it’s the kind of detail that looks cool without trying too hard.

Richy Gingham Soft Tailored Blazer

I love the Richy Blazers - the fit is spot on and they’re so easy to wear. This brown gingham one is a favourite, I’m always in brown tones, especially in autumn.

Pippa Gingham High Waist Trousers

You can’t have a Richy Blazer without the matching Pippa Trousers! This full suit is just beautiful and looks so nice on, so I had to add these here.

Brona Unlucky For Some Boxy Fit Graphic Tee

Brona Unlucky For Some Boxy Fit Graphic Tee

I’ve had the Brona T-shirt on my wishlist for a while - I love the comfy, boxy fit and that it’s made from organic cotton. The dice graphic on the back is such a nice detail, too.
