1970s Style

When it comes to style, the 1970s was a definitive era. It's a time period we look to for inspiration often at Joanie: the laid-back bohemian maxi dresses, rich paisley prints, and floaty fabrics that are (at least in our opinion) undeniably cool.

Influenced by the 1967 Summer of Love and Woodstock Festival in 1969, bohemian hippie style was a mainstay into the early 1970s. Think: graphic band tees, nature-inspired motifs, and do-it-all denim.

Our pre-autumn collection channels the free-spirited energy we associate so closely with late 1960s and early 1970s fashion. From flower child embroideries to rust-toned flares and band tees, this collection embodies the easy-going spirit of the era.

California Dreaming

That laid-back Laurel Canyon vibe was our vintage touchstone for this season: boho babes with flowing hair wearing maxi dresses, psychedelic paisley patterns and folky embroideries, easy breezy denims paired with retro band tees.

Inspired by the music and arts that defined the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, this vintage-inspired capsule features psychedelic paisleys, retro graphic slogans, bold florals, and textured embroidery, with boho style taking centre stage.

Designed with transitional dressing and layering in mind, with a range of more conscious fabrics and an inclusive size range. Think Summer Of Love meets ‘with the band’ chic: lightweight and breezy cotton, vintage-inspired corduroy styles, and laid-back denim.
