We're partnering with The Seahorse Trust on an 'Under the Sea' Graphic Tee, donating £5 from to sale of each one to support their conservation of these magnificent creatures and their environment.

The Seahorse Trust was set up in 1999 as an umbrella organisation to preserve and conserve the natural world. The organisation is responsible for overseeing and working in partnership with a number of research projects around the world through a loose collection of seahorse groups called 'The Seahorse Alliance.'

I’ve always looked at seahorses as miniature marine dinosaurs that survived the extinction; fascinating, pre-historic wonders with a very modern approach to feminism and parenting! Now, I’ve never seen a seahorse in real life - I thought they were way out of my jurisdiction, but whilst indulging in my favourite post-work guilty pleasure of a brew in front of The One Show, I was surprised to learn that we do indeed have seahorses all around the coasts of the UK and the island of Ireland. Sadly, after surviving the last 13 million years, they are now endangered and may only survive another 15 to 30 years unless more is done to save them. We’re supporting the Seahorse Trust with donations from sales from our Marino 'Under The Sea' Tee to help their good work and keep these funny little creatures galloping on freely through the oceans.

Charity Partnership With The Seahorse Trust

The Seahorse Trust's conservation activities include achieving recognition as a native species and legal protection for our two native seahorses and setting up a national and world database of seahorses sightings in the wild which helps inform their conservation.

They also survey for seahorses in the wild to learn more about their behaviour, installing almost 100 ecomoorings at Studland Bay in Dorset to protect vital seahorse habitat. The Seahorse Trust advises governments around the world on seahorse conservation, exploring how captive breeding differs from breeding in the wild, and looking at seahorse’s nutritional needs and so many other things to ensure seahorses around the world have a better future.

These conservation projects allow researchers and students around the world to share information and techniques in the hope of learning more about seahorses and how best to protect them and their natural environment.

The Seahorse Trust has partnered with Joanie Clothing on a stunning ‘under the sea’ T-shirt to help generate funds and awareness for the work of The Seahorse Trust. Joanie shows that collaboration between business and conservation not only works but is a necessity in this modern world. By working together, we can promote the conservation and preservation of nature, especially seahorses and their unique environments. Without close relationships like this, we cannot change our world, we cannot save species, and - crucially - we cannot save the natural world for the coming generations. Thanks to everyone at Joanie and their customers for their amazing support of our work. Together, we will make a difference.
