We're giving you a peak behind the scenes at Joanie HQ with our Staff Picks series! First up is Charlie, our Content Executive - read on to find out more about her job and the Joanie pieces she's loving right now...
We devised this series to give you a glimpse into daily life at the Joanie office, and the brilliant individuals that make up our small and passionate team! Find out about the people behind our brand, their roles at Joanie, and the pieces they’re currently coveting from our collection.
Meet Charlie, Content Executive
Hi Charlie! Tell us about your role at Joanie - what does a typical day look like and what's the best bit about your job?
I've been at Joanie for a few years now, and my job is quite varied! In general, I look after the content on the website which includes the products themselves, the blog, and lots more. I think the best bit about my job is the people - it's really nice to work as part of a team where everybody gets along well!
Who is your style icon?
This is such a hard question! It changes all the time, but I've been obsessed with Alexa Chung since I was a teenager and I don't think that's going to go away any time soon haha.
What are you watching or reading at the moment - do you have any recommendations?
I'm reading The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver at the moment. A friend recommended it to me a couple of years ago and I've only just got around to reading it, and I'm really enjoying it! I'm also re-watching Twin Peaks for the first time as an adult and loving it even more than I remembered.
Staff Picks: Charlie’s Favourites
Narrowing down my list of favourite picks to only five has been difficult, but these are the styles I have on repeat in my wardrobe and keep coming back to, season after season.
Bram Oversized Victorian Collar Blouse
Bram is my go-to everyday blouse - I love the kind of 'sailor-ish' look it has! It works well with jeans, styled with dungarees, or worn underneath knitwear with the exaggerated collar sticking out. I'd recommend going up a few sizes for a more relaxed fit!

Paris Patent Leather Mary Jane Shoes
It doesn't get much more classic than a pair of black Mary Jane shoes! The Paris Shoes are high up on my wishlist because of how easy to style and timeless they are.
Mandy Mid Wash Denim A-Line Mini Skirt
In a similar vein, the Mandy Denim Skirt is one of my most-worn Joanie pieces because it's so classic. It's a true mini with a really flattering A-line silhouette. I wear mine with tights in winter and bare legs in summer - you really can't go wrong.
Delia Polka Dot Print Mini Tea Dress
Delia is on my wishlist because it's a great all-rounder that doesn't need much styling. I love the keyhole neckline on this dress, and polka dots are one of my favourite prints.

Anastasia Puff Sleeve Velvet Maxi Dress
I bought this maxi dress around Christmas time, and I can see myself wearing it year in, year out. The slip dress underneath is removable, and I styled it with thick tights and a black bra with some chunky heels for a festive night out. I'm looking forward to wearing it in spring and summer, too - it's such a nice staple black dress!
