We’re delving into the inspirations behind our bestselling Joanie Icons! Next up in this series is Bellatrix, the luxurious velvet jumpsuit that’s a tried and tested party season staple.

Meet Bellatrix!

Bellatrix is the bestselling jumpsuit that’s popular for a reason. This all-in-one outfit is inspired by the 1970s, taking aspects of some of our favourite vintage designs and combining them into one easy-going velvet package.

We created the Bellatrix Jumpsuit to be as effortlessly cool as possible, with floaty short sleeves, a tie-back sash belt to cinch in the waist, and full-length wide legs. Practical features like the V-shaped back with a zip closure make this style easy to do up on your own, and, of course, it has pockets!

The Bellatrix Jumpsuit is one of our favourite party season staples, and we’ve spent years improving this design to make it more sustainable - the luxurious jewel-toned velvet we use comes from recycled plastic waste, including plastic bottles and other single-use plastics that might have otherwise ended up in the ocean.

Joanie Clothing is always lovingly designed with the wearer in mind. We’re a proudly female-fronted company, and we design for real-life women with boobs, tums, and bums.

Where we can, we’ll always add a little ‘ease’ to your day, whether that’s a fabric that washes really well, an elastic channel that gives you an extra inch post-lunch, or a natty little inside button that stops the belly button keyhole from popping open at pudding time.
