Meet Sarah, Ecommerce & Marketing Manager

Hi Sarah! Tell us about your role at Joanie - what does a typical day look like?

Hi! A typical day varies so much - we’ve just launched Our Story, something we’ve been working on for a while so it’s great to see the pages live on the site! We’ve got some big collaborations coming up this year so we’re all busy working on getting everything ready for those!

We’re also currently working hard on a hot cross bun league so just shout if you need hot cross bun advice, we’ve really put the time in with this one…

What’s the best bit about your job?

I’ve been with Joanie since we launched back in 2016 and it’s so nice to see the brand evolve – we have such a great team here who really care about the brand and each other. We’ve made some big improvements to the website recently, they’ve been in work a long time so it’s great to see them live! We’ve also worked hard over the last couple of years to become a more sustainable brand – it’s something that’s really important to us all so it’s great to hear such positive feedback from our customers!

Can you describe yourself in three words?

Answering this question is my worst nightmare – I think giving that as answer describes me better than any three words could and I’m also hoping it gets me out of actually answering the question…

How would you define your personal style?

I have put a lot of effort into trying to look French over the years – I know it’s very not French to admit that, but it’s really far too obvious what I’m trying to do for me not to mention it.

Staff Picks: Sarah’s Favourites

I’ve been waiting MONTHS for this week’s New In to arrive – I’m 100% dressing for summer now and I’m somewhat delusional as to what springtime in England looks like. If that means I’m cold for the next couple of weeks (or months…) then so be it.

Sierra Square Neck Tiered Cotton Midaxi Dress - Black

The Sierra dress is exactly the dress I want to wear at this time of year, it’s long enough for when the weather isn’t playing along but perfect for catching some sun if the opportunity arises! A black dress is a classic AND it has pockets AND it’s made from Organic Cotton – win, win, win.

Finette EcoVero™ Floral Print Midaxi Tea Dress

I can’t resist a green floral print and I love the shape of Finette – it’s the perfect tea dress! I like to wear it with converse but it’s a dress for all occasions if you wear different shoes! I’m also pretty sure I can get away with not ironing it, we’ll see…

Piper Leopard Head Button Cardigan - Black

A classic in my opinion, I think a black cardigan is a wardrobe essential and the Piper Leopard Head Button Cardigan is a FUN essential. It’s always good to have a black cardigan to hand for those days where you’ve been overly optimistic about the temperature.

Coco Classic Bardot Top - Navy Stripe

What can I say? I like stripes. I like to think of Coco as a dressed-up stripe… and it’s perfect for getting the sun on your shoulders (i.e. my favourite activity). I bought Coco last year and I plan to have it forever. I like to wear with jeans and pretend I’m in Paris.

Liesl EcoVero™ Ditsy Floral Print Button-Through Sundress

I bought Liesl last year and I know I’ll wear it every summer! I like to wear it with a white T-shirt in the spring and then without when it’s really nice and warm! Liesl is the vintage dress you wish you could just stumble across in a vintage shop, but it’s even better because it doesn’t need to be dry cleaned and it has pockets.
