We were recently fortunate enough to chat to the lovely Laura from the blog Laura Jane Atelier to find out more about her life as a blogger and her favourite Joanie picks. Read on for our full exclusive blogger interview!

As well as a full time blogger, cat mum and vintage lover, Laura is also a perfumer for a hand-crafted, hand-poured small batch perfume company.

Laura is a inspirational Joanie gal and we couldn't wait to find out more about her.

So here's what we found out in our exclusive blogger interview...

Please give us a brief description of your life as blogger?

I post on my blog five days a week so my life is very busy because I do everything myself from reaching out to brands,  marketing, accounting, creative direction and photography. I am constantly on the go thinking of new ideas. My boyfriend and my mom take my photos and I do all the editing myself in light room.

Describe a typical day…

On a typical day I usually start by checking my emails and look for different collaborations to apply for on blogger networks. I then take product photos and respond to comments and post to social media. After lunch I start my blog post for the next day and that takes a few hours. I usually take a break in the afternoon and go to the gym to clear my head. In the evening I am finishing up my blog post, editing photos and responding to comments.

What’s the best part of your job?

I love that I can be creative and I get to try so many unique products. Every week is different with new opportunities. I love my job because it is creative and exciting. It is also hard work and I spent years working at it before I started to see the reward.

What’s your typical go to friday night drink?

I don’t drink very often but I do enjoy a wide variety of unique craft beer.

What item can you not leave the house with?

My iPhone.

In your wardrobe, what item can't you live without?

My black fleece lined tights as they are warm in the winter and go with all of my dresses. I don’t like to wear pants therefore they have me dress vintage even in the winter.

How would you describe your style?

I like to incorporate vintage in my wardrobe and enjoy wearing dresses and bold prints. I love to dress feminine and quirky and could wear different dress everyday. Also I am going through a vintage brooch phase and love them on my coats.

What are your fave autumn winter pieces from Joanie?

I love the Clara polka dot collar dress and the Wednesday crochet collar dress. They fit so well and the knit fabric is so soft and comfortable. I wear them every week and layer them with a cute coat or sweater. I wish I had a whole bunch of them to wear as my uniform.

What would be your Joanie weekend outfit?

My Joanie weekend outfit would be the Martha cat printed shirt dress because I love cats and it would be perfect for Caturday!

What’s your favourite book?

I love murder mystery books and The Devil in the White City is my favourite. I am excited that they are turning it into a movie.

If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be?

It has always been my dream to go to Paris, hopefully one day it will come true.

What would your spirit animal be?

Cat

If you could give your 16-year-old self any advice, what would that be?

Stop worrying about what other people think so much. Don’t stress about boys and silly things and follow your dreams. Time moves by so fast even though it seems to drag when you are younger. Just be happy and enjoy the moment. You are only young once!
