From being young girls, we've always been excited to slip on that gingham school summer dress and ditch that boring grey skirt. So why should that stop now we're adulting? You know us Joanie Gals, we're big fans of nostalgia, so let's bring it back!

Gingham dresses have always been a source of relief for us girls, from slipping out of the dull uniform and into something inspiring to the sight of that picnic blanket on a summers afternoon. We knew it from a young age: gingham works! Reese Witherspoon knows it, that's why we're taking our inspo from her this month. At various times this month she's been sporting a picnic-esque influence in her styles and we love it! Baby blue is definitely her colour and it works well with the wicker bag and shoes.

Also, did you know it is National Picnic Month? Let's make sure our days are filled with mini sausage rolls, glasses of lemonade and gingham dresses.
