Joanie Gals, meet a member of British Airways Cabin Crew.

'I usually wake up at...'

There is never a 'normal' wake up time in world of a 'trolley dolly'. I can have report times from 5am to 11pm. However, when I'm down route I can be reporting for work at 2am... yikes!

'My usual breakfast is...'

I would love to sit here and say I have a nutritious breakfast daily... however I am accustomed to a belvita and a brew!  Unless I am lucky enough to go out for breakfast where egg and avocado on toast is a personal favourite!

'In my job, I am responsible for...'

The safety and security of everyone on board, I went through five weeks of intense training which taught me everything: from first aid to emergency evacuation! Now the serious bit is out of the way, I am responsible for making sure everyone has an enjoyable experience on board: from keeping their champagne topped up to having a nice conversation about their upcoming holiday or business venture.

'My most memorable work moment is...'

In my job, I am lucky enough to travel all over the world. But my most memorable work moment has to be my first time to South Africa! The hotel was incredible and that was the first time I had been on a safari. I also got to feed an elephant. It was incredible!

'After work I enjoy...'

Honestly? a glass of wine! My job is complex in the fact that you're communicating with so many different people from all walks of life, usually whilst you are jet lagged! Most crew once we get to the hotel have already agreed a post flight tipple.

'What's your typical Friday night go-to-drink?'

I like to always start on the prosecco! Then if I'm out with my girls, I usually enjoy a vodka, lime and soda... which usually ends in Tequila *never a good idea*

'What can you not leave the house without?'

A hairbrush, my hair is... unique.

'In your wardrobe, what can you not live without?'

Black jeans. They're my wardrobe staple!

'You're given a plane ticket titled 'anywhere'... where do you go?'

Rio! It's on my bucket list.

'What would your spirit animal be?'

A pug, as they're chubby, loveable and sassy!

'What's your favourite book?'

To Kill a Mockingbird.

'What advice would you give your 16-year-old self?'

You don't need to fit in all the time, it's your differences that make you special. Appreciate what makes you different, as you will have amazing talents that other people envy. Understand sooner, rather than later that some friendships dwindle, you shouldn’t always be making the effort with people who don't make the same with you, friendship is a two way street.
